A 26-year-old primigravid woman at 30 weeks of gestation presents with non-pruritic jaundice for one week. There is no abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever. Her antenatal period was uneventful previously. Her medical history is significant for several episodes of jaundice during her teens. All of these resolved spontaneously after a few days and were not investigated. She is not on any medications. She used to drink socially, but stopped drinking for the past 12 months, as she wanted to conceive. She does not smoke or use recreational drugs.

A hepatitis panel is negative for hepatitis A IgM antibodies, hepatitis B surface antigen, hepatitis B IgM core antibody, and hepatitis C antibodies.
